Isaac Carter Deed from John Carter Admr of Est. This Indenture made the 15th day of the 11th Month ALS one thousand Eight Hundre and Foty nine Between John Carter of Guilford County and John English of Randolph County both of the State of North Carolina administrators to the estate of Marmaduke Hayworth Deceased on the one part and Isaac Carter of the County of Guilford and State aforesaid on the other part. Witnessth that whereas the said Marmadoke Hayworth (Deceased) late of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina died seized and possessed of certain Lands hereinafter Described, the conditions of these obligations are Such that the above said administrators of Marmaduke Hayworth Decesased, having disposed of the movable property of the Said Deceased and finding it insufficient for the payment of his debts petitioned the County Court of Guilford at November Term 1848, for privilege to Sell said land for the payment of the debts of the debts of the said deceased which was granted by the said court and the above named administrators having given notice 30 days previous to the selling of said land which took place at a public sale on the 8th day of the 1st Month 1849 on a credit of Nine Months when and where the above said Isaac Carter became the last and Highest bidder at the Sum of Five Hundred and Three Dollars and he giving note with approved security the said Administrators were authorized at August Term 1849 to receive payment and give title to the same. Now therefore their Indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of the promses together with the further consideration of the said sum of Five Hundred and Three Dollars to them in hand paid by the Said Isaac Carter the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged in full they the Said administrators of Marmaduke Hayworth as aforesaid doth given granted bargained and Sold and by the Indenture doth give grant bargain sell and convey to the Said Isaac Carter his heirs and assigns the Land aforesaid lying and being in the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina on the waters of Richland Creek bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a stone in Frarvers line running South along Hoggath line One Hundred and Ninety three poles to a stone in John Carter line thence East along said Carter line one hundred nad forty seven poles to a stone at the bank of the creek thence North along said Carter and Rickes line one Hundred and twenty poles to a stone thence West along Fraziers line one Hundred and Forty four poles to the Beginning containing one hundred and Eighteen acres of Land be the same more or less to have and to hold together with all and singular the woods ways water mining minerals privileges and appertainanes thereunto gbelonging or in any use appertaining to him the Said Isaac Carter his heirs and assignees in fee simple forever free and discharge of any and all hinderences interruptions or incumbances whatsoever and the Said administrators as aforesaid hath covanted and by this indenture doth convenant to and with the Said Isaac Carter his heirs and assignees to warrant and forever defend the title hereby conveyed from the lawsful claim or claimis of any and all persons whatsoever sofar forth as their office and duty of administrators as aforesaid shall require and are further, in Testimony whereof we Said John Carter and John English administrators as aforesaid doth hereunto set our hands and seals this day and year first above written.
