This Deed made this 5th day of February, A.D. 1910, by C.T. Hughes and wife Minnie Hughes, of Stephens County and State of Georgia, of the first part and L.F. Hendrix of Clay County and State of North Carolina, of the second part.

Witnesseth, that said parties of the first part, in consideration of One Hundre Dollars, to them paid by part of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these do bargain, sell and convey to said L.F. Hendrix, and his heirs and assigns, a certain tract of parcel of land in Hayesville Township, Clay County, North Carolina, adjoining the lands of F.L.Padgett, and others and bouned as follows, viz:

Beginning on a white oak, beginning corner of Entry number 2804, and runs North 100 poles to a black gum then West 20 poles to a black gum, on a ravine; thence down said ravine with its meanders to the forks of the branch; thence down said branch with its meanders 37 poles to a stake and pointers; thence North 84 East 48 poles to the beginning, containing 25 acres more or less.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof forever. And the said partis of the first part covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have a right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free and clear from all encumbrances, and that they wiill warrant and defend the said title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

I, A.T. Davis, J.P. & N.P. in and for said County and State do hereby certify that C.T. Hughes and Minnie Hughes,his wife, personnally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the foregoing Deed of conveyance, and the said Minnie Hughes, being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband, touching her foluntarily execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or any other person, nd that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
