This Deed made this 29th day of September, 1924, by W.H. Price and wife, Lillie Price, of clay County and State of North Carolina, of the first part to L.F. and L.A. Hendrix, of Clay County and State of North Carolina, of the second part: the reciptor of which is hereby acknowledged,have bargained and sold, and by these presents do garnt, bargain, sell and convey to said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Clay County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of B. H. Byers, J.M. Sullivan, T. C. Philips and others, and bounded as follows, viz:
BEGINNING on a stake and pointers, the Northwest corner of Downing's Creek School Property, and runs with Downings Creek Road as it meanders, S. 41 1/2 W. 14 poles, S. 35 1/2 W. 22 poles, S. 24 W. 44 poles, S. 15 W. 17 poles, S. 75 1/2 W. 14 poles, S. 62 W. 16 pols, S. 83 1/2 W. 12 poles, S. 50 w. 6 poles to a persimmon, L. F. Hendrix corner; thence S. 35 E. 5 poles to a persimmon; thence S. 2 1/2 w. 37 1/2 poles to a stake and pointers in South boundary line No. 65; thence N. 85 E. with the boundary line of No. 65, 67 poles to a white oak and maple, Southwest corner of Ben Byers Home Lot; thence N. 22 1/2 E. 93 poles to a Black Oak and Post Oak on the North Bank of the Old Lick-log Road in the East boundary line of No. 65; thence with the East boundary line f No. 65 North 59 poles to a small black oak, th Southeast corner of the Downings Creek School Lot; thence N. 78 W. 20 poles to the beginning, containing 47 acres, more or less. One half of the mineral interset on said lands is hereby excepted.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD THE AFORESAID tract of parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenancs thereto belonging, to the said parties of the second part, their heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever.
And the said parties of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee and have their heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premise in fee and have a right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free and clear from all encumbrances, and that they do hereby forever wsarrant and will forever defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever.

I, T. C. Scroggs, J. P. do hereby certify that W. H. Price and Lillie Price, his wife, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed of Conveyance; and the said Lillie Price being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth sate that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
