Vincent H. Hendrix to Joseph L. Johnson

This deed made this the 30" of December 1902 by Vincent H. Hendrix of Wilkes County and State of North Carolina of the first part to Joseph L. Johnson of Wilkes County and state of North Carolina of the second part witness that said Vincent H. Hendrix in consideration of six hundred dollars to paid by J. L. Johnson the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain sell and convey to said Joseph L. Johnson heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in Wilkes County State of N. Carolina adjoining the lands of Edmond Dean Calvin J. Bowles and others bounded as follows:

First tract, acrews unknown supposed to be one hundred and twenty-five acres beginning on a gum and white oak one arridge a spring running south 40 poles to a white oak on a ridge then east crossing the spurs of a large 8 poles to a red oak on the spur of a ridge then down the ridge south crossing Hoovers branch one hundred and sixty poles to a white oak and chestnut on the side of a hill thence west to the top of the mill ridge Martha Hendrix's conditional corner thence rather southwest with Martha Hendrix's line where she lives cross the Stony Fork road thence north no of poles unknown to a white oak corner of a thirty acre track Thence north sixty poles to a gum north seventy three east ot the beginning. Second tract, beginning on a white oak in the field containing thirty acres running north with the above name J line sixty poles to a gum corner thence north seventy three east sixty poles to a gum and white oak. Corner of the first named tract. Then west with the line of Lipfords seventeen acre tract thirty seven poles to his gum corner [word unkown] north is line six poles to a white oak then west to end with Lipfords old line crossing the branch eighty poles to a stake on the top of the ridge thence south eighteen poles to a spanish oak then east nine poles to a black oak thence south twenty two poles to a white oak thence south 34 east firty poles to a sourwood thence south forty oles to a dogwood thence east twenty oples to a stake in the line of the first tract thence north with said line to the beginning.

Third tract containing seventeen acres begining on a white oak & gum the beginning corner of the firt named tract running east eight poles to a white oak north sixty to a polar thence west forty six poles to a slate thence south sixty poles to the line of the Richard Yates tract then east with said line thirty eight poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises with all rights and privileges thereto belonging to the said Joseph L. Johnson his heirs and assigns to his only use and behold forever. And the said Vincent H. Hendrix convent with said Joseph L. Johnson heirs and assigns that he is sized of said premises in fees and has right to convey the same in fee simple that the same are free and clear from all incumbances and that he wil warrant and defent the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever. In testimony thereof the said Vincent H. Hendrix has hereunto set his hand and seal this day year above written
