Carrie Carter (18 Feb 1897-2 Feb 1992) was the daughter of William Thomas Carter (15 Jun 1858-25 Dec 1930). Born in Murphy, NC, and Margaret B. Greenwood (2 Apr 1873-1 Jul 1902). she married John Philo Hendrix (13 Jul 1891-4 Oct 1938) and they had the following children:

1. James Hendrix
2. Martha Inez Hendrix (10 Apr-) m. James Morris Washburn (5 Jan 1908-12 May 1980)
3. Jarvis Ray Hendrix (11 May 1919-2 Mar 1987) m. Martha Jeanette Ware (8 Sep 1920-30 Jun 1990). Theirs was a hasty marriage made during WWII and a divorce followed, One child resulted from the marriage.
   1. John Raymond Hendrix (24 May 1940) married Peggy Scherer. No issue.
   Jarvis then married Ruth Naomi Schoessler (7 Apr 1918-) and they had one daughter.
   1. Constance Mae Hendrix (11 Dec 1953-) married Thomas Diblich (29 Apr 1953-) They had the following children:
      1. Kimberly Lynn Diblich (31 May 1975-)
      2. Mathew Thomas Diblich (19 Feb 1980-)
      3. Cathleen Diblich (25 Jan 1984-)
   2. Irene Hendrix (6 May 1924-) married Carl Wilbur Basey (2 Nov 1919-16 Feb 1996). Their children are listed on the Basey web site.
4. George Lenzy Hendrix (1 Jun 1927-) m. Bonnie Ann Kroesckel 7 Aug 1927-) and had one son:
