HOCKETT FAMILY GENEALOGY

Anthony Hoggatt was born in the Mid 1600's in England is the first known Hockett in this lineage. He was born in Berkshire County, England (date unknown) and moved to the US in the early 1680's to Chadford in Chester County, Pennsylvania with his son Phillip.

Notes:

• William, the eldest son, founded the Hockett Blacksmith Shop around 1830 with Jesse Davis Hockett and John Enoch Hockett. The shop was active through the turn of the century and was relocated to Greensboro Historical Museum in 1977. William's oldest son, William was narly disowned by the church for marrying outside the Quaker group.

   Beulah became a prostitute and was disowned by her family. She had to be buried by Sisters of the Poor after her death at about 70 years of age.
